An Incredibly Hard Year
Lee had a terrible year in 2015 and a series of unpredictable and unfortunate events changed his life completely. First, a bad storm damaged his home and it left his house needing a lot of work. However, Lee didn’t have the money to make his house inhabitable again, so he decided to live in a trailer on his property instead. Then, tragedy struck and his son passed away in a snowmobile accident. Even though Lee was down on his luck and absolutely heartbroken, that didn’t stop him from showing kindness to others and being optimistic about his future.

When his house became unsafe to live in, Lee decided to live in a trailer on his Minnesota property. The trailer wasn’t really in good shape but at the age of 76, Lee felt he didn’t have a lot of options. When Angela’s daughter, Domino’s delivery driver Sarah, saw where he lived, she didn’t feel good about his living conditions. With its roof and siding rusted and deteriorating, the trailer was in bad shape and it was because of the same storm which destroyed his house. Winter was coming, and Angela and Sarah felt bad about Lee’s living situation.
