James Robert “Jim-Bob” Walton was the second youngest kid in the family. He was born a twin, though his sibling Joseph Zebulon did not live past birth. It was unfortunate that they did not both survive even though they were the only kids in the family delivered at the hospital. David Harper first played Jim-Bob in the made for television movie, The Homecoming: A Christmas Story. The year that filmed, The Waltons TV series became a reality. Harper then signed on to star in it and played Jim-Bob for the entire nine seasons of the show.
