This next bit of information is a little sad. After suffering a stroke, Ellen Corby had to take a break to rest and recover. She was initially afraid that her acting chops would be affected by the stroke, but everyone was surprised to find that the the opposite happened! However, fans were not sure the actress should be back on the show so soon. Her cast members stepped up and told everyone that acting was doing wonders for her health.
