Rachel was not convinced by her explanation, so she decided to do something about it. She forwarded an article about Anna Delvey to the New York District Attorney’s Office. In her email, she said, “I think this woman is a con-artist.” It did not take long before they contacted her to tell her, “we think you’re right.”

Soon enough, Anna got arrested for her outstanding hotel bills. One newspaper even published an article with this headline: “WANNABE SOCIALITE BUSTED FOR SKIPPING OUT ON PRICEY HOTEL BILLS.” Ouch. Anna hired a lawyer and was granted bail. After that, life seemed to go back to normal for her. She somehow found the money to go to California. While there, she was arrested once again in Malibu and then got sent back to New York. This time, the young woman was going “to face six counts of grand larceny and attempted grand larceny, in addition to theft of services.”
