Initially, the Basset Hound was bred to hunt small animals, and to this day, some of them continue to do just that in the United States. When they are not hunting, they make a very good family dog that adores kids. Who can resist those long ears?

The Pit Bulls pretty much have a bad rep for being aggressive. However, they actually are great dogs for a person or a family. They are quite good with children which even got them the name ‘nanny dogs.’ They are also great at obedience competitions as they are both tenacious and brave.
