Not Perfect Plants
They might have deep roots in the history of the United States, but they are not perfect. The bushes, for one, grow into weird shapes. Halfway through the summer, a lot of lilacs tend to attract a pretty ugly gray mildew. Once the flowers have completely bloomed, the remains of the plant look unappealing.
When They Are Not In Bloom
Lilac bushes are not going to help with your landscaping when the colder months roll in. They look pretty lifeless when the plant is not in bloom. If you ask us, the best place to put them would be the backdrop of the shrubbery. This way, they can fade into the background and make way for roses.
