Though it is not exactly El Dorado, you will still be amazed by these secret cities. Overall, Russia has 41 secret cities located in various spots in it’s vast territory. You will not find these cities on the map, though you can be sure that they have a long history. These secret cities were used in different industries such as chemical, military, and metallurgy.

During the Cold War Era, Russia and the U.S. had been putting a lot of effort in sending the first man to the moon. The Soviet Union was able to win this race in 1961, after sending Yuri Gagarin into space. The US was able to land Apollo 11 only 8 years after Russia. They might have been the winner of this Space Race, though it wasn’t all smooth-sailing. Russia never openly talked about the Lost Cosmonauts who died during the failed test flights.
