Subway Dogs
Many countries have issues with homeless dogs roaming the streets. However, this population has appeared to have adapted in Russia! Stray dogs travel on and off the Russian subway system at any given time of day, earning the nickname “metro dogs”. According to the Russian biologist named Dr. Andrey Poyarkov, these dogs actually understand that they can come into the city, and return to their homes in the evening with the use of their subway.

In the past, many countries and empires wanted and tried to conquer Russia. Do you know why? This is because of Russia’s landmass, of course. It is one of the biggest countries in the whole world. It holds at least a tenth of the total land surface of the planet. Aside from that, it also has one of the longest rivers, the Volga River, and the world’s deepest river, the Ob River. The latter body of water contains 20% of the fresh water supply of the world!
