Though we often associate vodka with Russia, it is no joke that a lot of people die because of alcohol poisoning in Russia. One of the reasons the citizens suffer from this is because of the illegal alcohol called “samogon”. This substance is reportedly twice as strong as the regular vodka. In 1985, former Russian president Mikhail Gorbachev tried to ban alcohol in Russia. However, it was simply a lost cause.

Some of these women were ballroom dancers, actresses, engineers, police officers, and economists. The actress Ksenia Sukhinova was declared as “2008 Miss World”.
