The Nutcracker
Most people probably know about this tidbit, though let’s just mention it anyway. Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky is well-known for his compositions like “Waltz of Flowers” and “The Nutcracker and the Mouse King” in 1981. The first performance of the latter was not well-received. However, the song became one of the most famous compositions of all time when it was recreated into a ballet.

Vladimir Putin loves animals, especially dogs. Meanwhile, the German Chancellor Angela Merkel hates dogs. Putin thought that if he took advantage of these facts, he might be able to win against Merkel in the negotiations. With this, Putin brought a large dog with him. Putin successfully threw off the German leader with it! Talk about an effective strategy.
