It was on February 3, 2017, that Reba dropped her first-ever gospel album called Sing It Now: Songs of Faith & Hope. The album came with two discs. One of them was full of more traditional hymns, while the other one carried her original songs.

She has explained that she came up with the idea to make a gospel album from her ex-manager, Bill Carter. It was her 28th studio album, and it was full of her favorite songs that she had been collecting over the years. She also drew inspiration from a hymn book from her childhood!
