The good thing about this is that many of these rockets have been disabled ever since the threat of war has dissipated. Nearly all of the nuclear shelters in the area had been sealed or destroyed ever since the ‘80s. During this decade, the relations between the USSR and the US were seeing improvements. The shelter in John’s home was built in 1961, around the same time the Cuban Missile Crisis was happening. The shelter on the property was a relic of that period in time. However, John had no idea just how interested people would be in the story.

His friends even suggested that he convert the bomb shelter into a cigar bar or wine cellar, although he already had something else in mind.
