It was no wonder that such an amazing place ended up going viral on the internet. As a matter of fact, no one was surprised to see it on the news. People were fascinated by the house and the old lady who owned it. No one could believe that a 96-year-old lady maintained it by herself. However, public exposure only made the price climb further. Those who tuned in to the story must have thought the house sounded more like a museum than a house. The house would not look out of place in the ‘40s because the furniture and decorations matched that time frame. Joyce was eager to keep everything that did not need to be replaced.

In the ‘60s, she modernized the kitchen to make things more convenient for the entire family. By then, the original kitchen was no longer practical. For Joyce, it was more important to cook things efficiently. Even though that was the last and only time the house underwent a renovation, the appliances were still in good condition.
