RICHARD CHAMBERLAIN, 84 YEARS OLD

Dr. Kildare is an NBC series where Richard Chamberlain landed a big opportunity and got the lead role. Perhaps the older readers could remember him as James Kildare, a young intern who is working at the TV show’s Blair General Hospital. The drama show was a success, and it gave the actor a lot of big breaks, on film and also on stage. You’d be able to see his works on, King Solomon’s Mines, The Bourne Identity, and The Thorn Birds. Perhaps you wouldn’t believe that Matt Damon is not the first actor to portray Jason Bourne, but that’s a fact. Here’s another fun fact: Chamberlain did not hide his homosexuality, and he was even in a relationship with his costar from the film Allan Quatermain and the Lost City of Gold. The media outlet that first reported this back in 1989 was Nous Deux, and later in 2003 when Chamberlain released his autobiography Shattered Love, it was confirmed.
