Chico’s
Over the next 3 years, Chico’s FAS, the parent company of the women’s wear chain retailer Chico’s, will shut down 250 of their shops. The stores linked to the closures have their own name as well as its two other brands, Soma and White House Black Market. The business has not yet reported as to which exact stores and locations will be closing.
Kohl’s
To try to avoid going the same troubles as many other major outlets, Kohl’s decided to only shut down 4 of its shops that were either located outside or within a mall by the end of 2020. The company announced that these stores were “lower-performing” and that employees at those outlets were either offered severance pay or a position at another Kohl’s outlet. Despite the fact, suspensions are usually a way of dodging any disaster instead of an instant disaster. With the choice to rather open 4 smaller stores, the company will continue to run unchanged.
