Lowe’s
The iconic home and garden wholesaler has to date closed approximately 51 of its unproductive stores. Withing the USA this year, 20 outlets were closed and in Canada, another 31 were forced to shut down as well. Lowe’s had firmly announced its objectives during 2018, and on 1 Feberryar 2020, the closing date for their stores had been finalized. The move to the nearest stores came just after J.C.’s former CEO Marvin R. Ellison. When Robert Niblock, Lowe’s long-standing CEO resigned, Penney took over the steering of the company.
Family Dollar
The discount chain Dollar Tree has reportedly said that it will close roughly 390 Family Dollar stores by the end of 2020. It will force its customers to find another store where they can buy goods for personal care and other essential items. The company has also decided to agree to rebrand an estimated 200 branches. This may not be the only change we will be seeing. Rumors are circulating that customers will soon be charged more than $1 in several of their stores.
