Nasty Gal founder Sophia Amoruso published the best-selling nonfiction book #Girlboss in 2014 and the TV show came out three years later. The producers might have had high hopes for the adaptation, though it seems like it did not get the viewership it was hoping for. This was likely the reason why the network decided to give it the ax in 2017. Netflix CEO Reed Hastings told Vanity Fair that there were many reasons why a show had to be cancelled, though “mostly, it is how many people watch.”

The crime drama Seven Seconds, unfortunately, did not live past its very first season. However, they were able to wrap up the story properly as it was made to stand on its own. The story focused on the unexplained death of a young African-American boy. To say the least, it had the viewers on the edge of their seat! Cindy Holland only had good things to say about the show: “We loved working with Veena, Regina and the cast and crew of Seven Seconds. Together they created a compelling, timely and relevant crime drama. The first season is a complete, stand-alone story that we are proud to feature on Netflix for years to come.”
