The vet told Mark that the puppies had somewhat of a surprise for him. As it turned out, the puppies weren’t actually puppies. In fact, they weren’t dogs at all! Mark couldn’t believe what he was hearing. How could they not be dogs? What were they?

The vet went on to explain to Mark that the puppies were not puppies, but baby foxes. Red foxes, to be exact. The vet said that puppies and fox cubs tend to look very similar at birth, especially since red foxes aren’t actually red for the most part.
