Leaving Hollywood in the height of your career is almost unheard of. But this is exactly what Greta Garbo Did. Three-time Academy Award-nominated actress started her career in silent films before making her speaking debut in Anna Christie in 1930. After a spell as “box office poison,” she decided to retire at age 35. Garbo enjoyed a life of leisure in retirement vacationing. She also began a massive art collection which was worth millions by the time she passed away.
Peter Ostrum – Veterinarian
Peter Ostrum is best known as Charlie in Willy Wonka and The Chocolate Factory. He decided acting wasn’t his passion and realized he wanted to do something to help animals. He got a degree from Cornell University College of Veterinary Medicine. He is currently a practicing vet and mostly treats horses.
