The Robertson Patriarch
Phil Robertson is the patriarch of the clan and the founder of the duck calling business. He was a talented football quarterback during his time at Louisiana Tech. He was good enough to get a roster spot on an NFL team! Sadly, he turned it down because training coincided with the duck hunting season. He created the business in 1973, and it has since come a long way.

Friends With Terry Bradshaw
Because of his sportsmanship, he was chosen ahead of Terry Bradshaw back in the 1970 NFL Draft. He was the first-string quarterback for the Louisiana Tech Bulldogs. When pressed about how he felt about going into duck hunting instead, Phil only said, “Terry went for the bucks, and I chased after the ducks.”
