Underwater Searches
In March 2010, the Aruban authorities conducted underwater searches after a report by an American couple. After snorkeling, they caught on camera what they thought were human remains. They were taken seriously, though the divers sent by the authorities did not find any remains down there.

Joran got in touch with Beth Holloway in 2010. He said he would tell her the location of her daughter on the condition that she pay him $250,000. Beth initially sent him $15,000 while $10,000 was delivered to him by an undercover cop in Aruba. Joran, true to form, gave her a false location and later got hit with an extortion charge. Before he was apprehended, however, he ran off to Peru.
