Like Sugar Land, Pearland is also attracting new residents quickly. After its population grew by almost 37% from 2010 to 2019, Pearland was included in Stacker’s list of top 10 boomtowns in the U.S. Going back even further, the city’s growth has truly been remarkable. In 2000, it only had 37,000 residents but in 2019, its population reached an estimated 131,000. The demographics have also shifted impressively, with almost 50% of Pearland residents having finished a four-year college degree or higher.
Goodyear, Arizona
For baseball fans, Goodyear, Arizona is a spring training haven. However, this desert city has much more going for it. An affluent Phoenix suburb, Goodyear is still pretty modest in size, compared to other cities on this list, although it has seen a lot of growth recently. According to Yahoo, from 2010 to 2019, its population grew by roughly a third, reaching about 86,000 residents. Goodyear’s population has ballooned by over 350% since 2000, making the city one of the fastest-growing in America in the past two decades.
