She used to spend a lot of time with The Band and even served as the inspiration for their hit “The Weight”. This was not the last time she was a muse for a musical act, however. Apparently, Gordon Lightfoot wrote “Sundown” in reference to their stormy relationship. She was also a backup singer at some point. She has said that The Band’s Richard Manuel proposed marriage to her, although she told him no.

Cynthia Albritton is another groupie who made a name for herself. Nope, she is not just another excited fan who wanted to boast about her rocker romances. According to her, the best part about the scene was creating one-of-a-kind art! She entered public consciousness for making plaster casts of musicians’ private parts. Frank Zappa himself was impressed by her skills and helped her relocate to LA to pursue her artistic career. Can you believe that her first mold was none other than Jimi Hendrix? If you ask us, she sure sounds like one amazing woman.
