Joshua’s dad had a different theory about Jim. He was sure that the man who had terrorized his son and his daughter-in-law was an old resident of the guesthouse. This was what he said to Detroit’s WXYZ-TV: “The gentleman that lived here originally… (jumped) out this window, which is one story down.”

Heather and Joshua were no closer to uncovering who was in the bed of their daughter, irrespective of anyone else’s ideas. “It scares us that it could do something else,” said Heather. She added, too, “It’s not physically just going after her, it feels like it’s going after us too… This has forced us to want to leave as soon as possible. The sooner, the better we’re out of here. This is a spirit! I don’t know what its goal is, but at this point, it’s becoming physically harmful.”
