There may be an active student body and a lively fraternity and sorority scene in Miami of Ohio. But none of that translates into a great deal of excitement at home football games. Constructed in 1983 and last renovated in 2005, Yager Stadium has more than 24,000 fans. But a lot of seats are frequently empty. Since 2010, the Redhawks have not had a winning season, which may be one reason for the team’s poor attendance.

Mount Pleasant, Michigan
Kelly/Shorts Stadium finds it tough to attract a great crowd, with Michigan and Michigan State both a few hours away. Even though the place can seat 45,000, attendance is regularly below the FBS minimum. Last season, the Chippewas had a pathetic 1-and-11 record, which did not help matters. And some fans say the 46-year-old stadium needs work and, particularly for seniors, is potentially dangerous. Given that Kelly/Shorts has a decent selection of concessions, the lack of trash receptacles is puzzling.
