Maternal Instinct?
You can say that as the lioness found the deer, she might have raised cubs herself, leading her maternal instincts to kick in. She could have just eaten the deer as it’s easy prey for her, yet she opted to take care of it. It’s also a good thing that she did it as if she had decided to leave this poor deer alone, other predators would have taken the chance with that deer. But then, out of nowhere, the photographer saw the lioness do something that made his jaw drop.

We’ve all seen videos and documentaries about lions, particularly about lionesses and how they are such amazing mothers. This one is no exception as just like the other lionesses, this one took care of a baby from another species! There are stories of countless lionesses taking care of leopard cubs as well as puppies! But is this one genuinely taking care of the deer? Or is she just preparing her snack?
