First, Tom carefully removed the ring from the carrot, examining it closely. From what he could tell, it hadn’t been buried for long—certainly not decades, as he had initially feared. But to truly understand how long the ring had been in the ground, he knew he’d need an expert’s opinion. He planned to visit a jewelry store that afternoon, but before heading out, he decided to do some research of his own, hoping to uncover any clues that might shed light on this mysterious piece of jewelry.

Tom studied the ring closely, but he was certain he didn’t recognize it from anywhere.
