Yes, it is correct. Ingrid Pitt, who had been alongside Eastwood in Where Eagles Dare, was set to star in the film. Her part was reduced from the screenplay before production ever began. Pitt later said that she was “nearly climbing on board the plane meant for Yugoslavia when word came through that [her] part had been cut,” and that she was “almost climbing on board the plane bound for Yugoslavia when word came through that [her] part had been cut.” How terrible!
