Not Custom-Made
Diana’s famous engagement ring, a 12-carat sapphire set with 14 diamonds and a white gold band, was chosen from a Garrard jewelry catalog. This is one of the few royal rings that weren’t custom-made. It’s been said that it reminded Diana of her mother’s wedding ring. Now, the sapphire beauty is worn by the Duchess of Cambridge.
New Tradition
The royal couple forgot to kiss after reciting their wedding vows, so they made up for it with a public display of affection on a balcony outside of Buckingham Palace. Their kiss created a tradition that has continued to this day.
