Kirkland Signature American Cheese

It’s no big deal that Costco dropped the ball on this Kirkland Signature product, considering how easily millennials are annihilating American cheese. Unlike the still-popular Kraft Singles, Kirkland Signature cheese slices were not individually packaged. Customers were divided on whether the convenience was worth the extra packaging. Many people thought the store brand product tasted good than the name brand contender, but Kraft triumphed over Kirkland in the end. Costco Panda, a self-described insider on Reddit, writes, “Sales were dropping on the KS stuff. We’ve lost a few million dollars a year. It made more sense to increase our Kraft purchase volume and, as a result, get a better price.”

Fresh Made Gelato

Some of you may remember this one relying on whether it was presented at your local Costco food court. Strawberry, chocolate, stracciatella, pistachio, and mixed berry gelato were available for $1.50 for a three-scoop waffle cone and $4.99 for a quart to do it at a few areas. Unfortunately, Costco stopped offering gelato in 2015, as per a Change.org petition (with over 100 signatures). The food court favorite, and according to Reddit user CellSalesThrowaway2, was only a trial offering on the menu that was declared a failure after a year.
