When word of a famous item’s demise reaches Costco, it often causes a frenzy among members and supporters. A few of the phased-out goods have triggered online petitions, while others have silently disappeared from supermarket shelves or food court menus. But, unfortunately, when an organization reaches the graveyard of a warehouse chain, there’s a good chance it won’t return. Consider the Costco products that have come and gone over the years, some of which have been eliminated for a good reason. The following are 21 items that Costco has decided to phase out.
Half-Sheet Cakes
Costco’s iconic half-sheet cakes have been added to the growing list of stuff postponed at COVID-19 this year. The warehouse chain put these delectable slabs on the stand in the spring. Half-sheet cakes were common for birthday parties because they could feed up to 50 people for a low price. But, according to Delish, the company has no measures to launch back the fan-favorite anytime soon. So instead, Costco suggests its 10-inch round cakes, which offer about a dozen people, as a great match for today’s social isolation gatherings.
