Killer Mike and El-P – Run The Jewels – Run The Jewels (2013)

To us, this is one of the best rap collaboration albums ever! Run the Jewels or RTJ is a hip-hop duo consisting of rapper/producer El-P, and Chicago based rapper Killer Mike. Both artists are brilliant and underrated hip-hop geniuses in our opinion. Every single song on this album is amazing. Carton Network executive Jason DeMarco introduced the two in 2011. This was their first collaborative album and it led to two follow-up albums: Run The Jewels 2, and Run the Jewels 3. All of these albums were praised by critics and fans!

Elvis Costello and Burt Bacharach – Painted From Memory (1998)

This unlikely collaboration totally worked! They first collaborated on the song “God Give Me Strength” for The film Grace of My Heart (1996). They actually wrote this song over the phone! Burt Bacharach was in L.A. and Elvis Costello was in Ireland. The two decided to continue to work together resulting in the album, Painted From Memory. It is a fully orchestrated collection of Costello’s vocals and Bacharach’s compositions. They won a Grammy for the song “I Still Have That Other Girl.” If you haven’t heard of this album before, we recommend you change that! They are a brilliant duo!
