Red Robin

Red Robin, a famous burger joint was founded in Seattle, Washington, during 1969. However, just one decade later, its first franchise was opened in Washington. For the time being, the business owns 562 restaurants, 90 of which are franchised. The chain has several Canadian stores as well, with its headquarters based in Colorado. Red Robin announced that they will be shutting down 35 restaurants along with laying off numerous of their top HQ employees in order to save on the losses that they experienced from COVID-19. For the time being the informal dining chain still rejects the activist investors’ suggestion of closing down the whole company. We’ll have to wait and see what happens…

HomeTown Buffet

During the peak of their business, HomeTown Buffet had roughly 250 stores. Established during 1983, it is actually an offspring of Ovation Brands, which actually belongs to Food Management Partners. From the time it was bought by Food Management, the buffet-style restaurant is being operated by new management. But the change has not done any justice for them as they have shut down over 200 restaurants since August in 2019.
