Timeout Trouble
Let’s go back to the NCCA Men’s Division I Basketball Championships in 1993. He made a rather infamous timeout call that ended up costing the team the title! There were only 10 seconds before the end of the 4th quarter and the score was 73-71 with the North Carolina Tar Heels in the lead. He called for a timeout without realizing they no longer had any! It earned him a technical foul and resulted in a loss for the Wolverines. That was a pretty big mistake and we’re sure he still regrets it.
