Can you imagine a hip-hop vibe on the court? Apparently, the Fab Five were considered responsible for lending a hip-hop vibe to the game. During his time on the team, the Wolverines made it to the NCAA finals twice. Not bad! It is even more impressive when you learn that four of the Fab 5 members joined the NBA after their stint in college. However, the talented basketball players had to deal with a scandal that nearly ruined their careers.

A Major Scandal
In the mid 90’s, a controversy broke out and it became known as the University of Michigan Basketball scandal. After he was handed a guilty conviction, the athlete was stripped of his college awards so he basically left the university with nothing to his name. The conviction was for perjury after it was revealed that he received over $200,000 from local boosters.
