Graham Chapman: M.D. from St. Bartholomew’s Medical College
Chapman’s earliest passions included acting and comedy, but he also had a big place in his heart for science. He decided to choose the safer route and study at Emmanuel College in Cambridge, where he majored in medicine. After graduating, Chapman took a year off from school to tour around New Zealand with the Footlights but later returned to pursue a Medical Degree from St. Bartholomew’s Medical College. He eventually became legally registered to practice medicine but kept himself in the world of acting.
Art Garfunkel: Master’s in Mathematics from Columbia University
Both Art Garfunkel and his co-singer Paul Simon were studious guys, but Garfunkel took school much more seriously. Simon attended Queens College and briefly after attended Brooklyn Law School, but dropped out not so long after beginning. Garfunkel, on the other hand, took his graduate studies more whole-heartedly, first earning his B.A. in art history from Columbia University, and later, an M.A. in mathematics education from Teachers College, Columbia University in 1967.
