Despite the fact that it was later changed to Wingate Christian School, the officials were still worried that the school’s reputation might suffer after its release. This was largely because of the way the film depicted the teachers’ dismissal of the academic abilities displayed by Michael Oher. Regardless, fans could still tell the school was meant to be Briarcrest Christian School. Green, the school’s color, was featured in a subtle but prominent manner. The school officials must have let out sighs of relief as the film did not do anything that would cause them shame. In fact, they only relayed things important to the narrative.
