The Rock (6’5”)

Once upon a time, practically no one knew this famous WWE fighter’s real name but later, especially once he got into acting, he began to go by his real name – Dwayne Johnson. He was an incredible professional wrestler, having won numerous championships in the WWE and WWF and he also played college football at the University of Miami, where he did quite well for himself, having won a championship there as well. After many years of being on screen as a wrestler, he wanted to take his career on screen to the next level, so he became a more serious actor – playing roles of tough and supercharged heroes or sometimes the bad guy seeing as he stands at a tall 6’5” and has all muscle. The many movies he has been in include, The Scorpion King, Tooth Fairy, the Fast and the Furious movies, Central Intelligence, and Rampage, to name a few.

Gogea Mitu (7’7”)

Awarded by the Guinness World Records for being the tallest professional boxer, Romanian born Gogea Mitu is another rare sports star who was over 7 feet tall. His massive form must have been quite intimidating, but this man was truly talented, having learned how to read himself as he never really went to school. When he was just a toddler, he often was mistaken for being much older because of his massive size and at only 17 years old, he started boxing. The reason he was big was because he suffered from the condition gigantism, which his brother also did and unfortunately, this story doesn’t have a happy ending seeing as his brother died at the young age of 7 (but with a height of 5’9”) and Gogea himself died of Tuberculosis at only 21 years old.
