His mother did not only know that his grandparents owned a safe, but she also told him how to open it. She said that the combination was the date of birth of her own husband. If that did not work, she told Eric that he should try using his dad’s social security number. Now that he knew that it was a safe, the only thing to do was to get it out of there and try to open it!

Eric used the combinations that his mother told him about. You can just imagine how disappointed he must have been to see that they did not work. If they did, the safe refused to open. Even though he tugged at the handle, it refused to budge regardless of how much force he used. In the end, Eric resigned to the fact that he needed to get help from experts if he wanted to see what was inside of it.
