One day, Melina was shocked to see that the regular customer was not at his usual table. Even though they did not exactly have a good relationship, she had become fond of him in her own way. After serving him for seven years, this was only natural. He was a part of her life as a waitress at Luby’s, after all. When he seemingly vanished into thin air, she could not help but wonder what happened to him.

Two days passed, and then three, but he still had not come in. Melina began to worry about the older man. Did something happen to him? However, she did not know his relatives nor where he lived. There did not seem to be any way for her to check on him. She could not stop wondering about the older man even once she was done with her shift. Deep down, she knew that something must have happened.
