Several Languages
Amish education includes instruction in not one, but three languages! From an early age, students are taught English, German, and Pennsylvania Dutch/German, among other languages. These languages are also spoken in the countries, so if you plan on visiting anytime soon, you should expect to hear one of these three.

Wedding Season
The majority of Amish weddings take place after the harvest season and communions, which take place in October on average, according to the Amish calendar. In order to take advantage of this, the majority of weddings take place in November and December, late in the autumnal season. That isn’t a particularly long period of time for a wedding season.
