Every single tennis fan will remember that dreadful moment when a rival fan broke through the crowd and stabbed Monica Seles. It was a major setback in her career. Seles won 9 Grand Slam singles titles and, like most fans believed, would probably have won a whole lot more. When she was just 13 years old, she became the world junior number 1 female tennis player. When she was 17 she dropped jaws again when she became the youngest player to take the number one tennis spot in the world.

Emerson is the Australian former number one who won 12 Major singles titles and 16 Grand Slam tournament men’s doubles titles. Yeah, he was that good. Plus he is the only male player to have completed a Career Grand Slam (winning titles at all four Grand Slam events) in both singles and doubles. His total 28 major titles are an all-time record for a male amateur player. He is also one of only seven men to win all four majors in his career, additionally he was the first male player to win 12 majors. Along with Novak Djokovic, he is one of only two male players to win 6 Australian Championships, plus he won five of them consecutively (1963–67). Since then, his 12 wins have been surpassed but he is still only one of five tennis players all-time to win multiple slam sets in two disciplines, only matched by Margaret Court, Martina Navratilova, Frank Sedgman and Serena Williams.
