Even though David McCallum plays the the medical examiner, he appeared in every single episode. Up until Season 6, Episode 23, “Legend Part II” that is. Even when no murder had been committed, he appeared on-screen. Ducky would either speak to the psychology of the case, or he would just dish out personal advice.
