WRNW
Back during his first marriage, his wife Alison Berns insisted Howard take a radio job at WRNW in New York. Thus, he started in late 1976 and even became the production and program director. Beginning at only 96 dollars a week, he worked his way up to $250 weekly. Even the King had humble beginnings.
Moving Around
Obviously, Stern made bigger moves after WRNW. He got a show with NBC, but the trouble was keeping this gig. He began working there back in 1982. Actually, the station even hired a lawyer specifically to silence Howard’s mic if he approached any forbidden topics. He lasted a short three years with NBC.
