The mystery of who successfully pulled off this incredible feat still lives on. As you would have guessed it, its origin is still widely disputed. Derinkuyu is the largest underground city to be discovered in Turkey. The Turkish Department of Culture is determined to find more answers to the questions that rattle our brains as we read this.

Hidden In The Darkness
To this day, excavation is still underway. The full extent of these tunnels and their paths has not been fully explored. Despite being opened to the public since 1969, the full site cannot be visited.
