USA Soccer Champ Alex Morgan
This American was just 22 years old when she played for the USA in the FIFA World Cup in 2011. Her team even won silver! She was the youngest player on the team that year. However, her shinning moment was at the London Olympics when Morgan scored the winning goal in the game against Canada. Her year finished with a total of 28 goals and also 21 assists. Thus, she joins Mia Hamm in the record for American women that scored more than 20 goals and had more than 20 assists in a single calendar year.
Endorsement Deals Leading To New Record
As if her amazing records were not enough, she has landed amazing endorsements. She’s partnered with Nike, McDonald’s, Coca-Cola and Nike, among others. After hearing all those big brands, it’s no surprise that Time ranked the champion as the highest-paid US female soccer player in 2015. Surely, those big endorsements add up.
