Sandy Koufax 1965 World Series
Now, we’re taking it back to 1965 during both games 5 and 7 of the World Series. How could not include the legendary Sandy Koufax in our list of MLB’s best moments? Of course, this baseball icon had tons of amazing performances, but this World Series one was unique. In game 5 against the Minnesota Twins, the Dodgers’ star Koufax surrendered only four hits but struck out ten! Then in the Game 7, Sandy Koufax pitched a shutout only allowing three hits and yet again, striking out ten! It’s no surprise, Koufax was named the MVP of the series. Oh and yes, the LA Dodgers won that World Series.
Red Sox Hit Four Consecutive HRs
On April 22, 2007, the Boston Red Sox made history during their game against the Yankees. It was a good night be a Red Sox fan for sure. Manny Ramirez hit a pitch from Chase Wright over Fenway Park’s green monster. Then the Yankees only led by 3-1. Next, J.D. Drew got a homer run. In an incredible moment, Mike Lowell sent his pitch onto Lansdowne Street, making three straight Red Sox hitters and making it a tie. Amazingly, Jason Varitek hit a fastball over the left field wall, leading the Red Sox 4 to 3 over the Yankees.
