Dedicated Phillies Fans
Phillies fans were ecstatic to say the least. I mean, Roy Halladay had specifically requested to be traded to the Phillies from the Blue Jays, and he was showing Philadelphia what a real asset he was in the game. To begin to comprehend how fans were feeling, remember that no single pitcher in MLB history ever threw a no-hitter in the regular season and a no-hitter in that same postseason. Oh and the Reds hadn’t had a no-hit since 1971 before this game. Yeah no big deal.
David Freese HR In 2011 World Series
Despite fans claiming the 1975 World Series game 6 was the best in history, we have a big contender with the 2011 World Series game 6. That’s right, this game was unbelievable especially because of David Freese’s two-run triple to send the game to extra innings and then his game-winning home run. After 11 innings, the Cardinals claimed victory with a 10 to 9 score against the Rangers. This win sent the Cardinals to game 7, it’s first Game 7 since 2002, which they came out of victorious.
