Mark has also appeared in films such as Daddy Day Care and Dr Dolittle 2, and most recently starred in Dragons of Camelot in 2014. Mark and Gladiators co-star Kate Staples (Zodiac) had a child together but have since broken up.

Michael was charged with perverting the course of justice in 1997 after allegedly paying a police officer on behalf of a gangster charged with attempted murder. He was sentenced to prison following a 24-day trial in which he was found guilty. He served a portion of a 15-month prison sentence and was denied an appeal in 2000. Michael later pursued careers in acting and singing, and eventually opened Mike Ahearne’s Pro Gym in Birkenhead.
