Vincent Jackson, WR, Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Jackson’s NFL future is filled with a bit of uncertainty. Currently the 12-year veteran is on Tampa Bay’s Injured Reserve list with an ACL injury, plus he will be 34 when the 2017 season kicks off. His 2016 season is also the final year of the five-year, $55-million contract he signed with the Bucs back in 2012, and even though the Buccaneers will have cap space to bring him back, we believe he will be finishing his career with another franchise.
Trumaine Johnson, cornerback, Los Angeles Rams
When the Rams chose to let Janoris Jenkins off as a free agent, they then signed the 2012 draftee Johnson to the franchise tag. Now that his long-term deal is higher, the Rams will have convinced themselves they just cannot run a dominant defensive line without some serious new talent. If Johnson should hit the open market, the price tag for one of the best could get a bit dicey.
